EuropeOn is looking for an intern in Communications, Events & Members support

EuropeOn, the EU association of electrical contractors based in Brussels, is recruiting a Communications, Events and Members’ support intern to contribute to our activities, ideally starting mid to late September.

EuropeOn is a member-led association representing 16 national electrical contractors’ associations and a wider sector comprising more than 1.8 million workers and 300.000 companies across Europe. We promote the digital and energy transition through electrification and initiated the #Skills4Climate campaign. This year, our annual Summit (in November) will focus on skills and artificial intelligence.

Our association is growing and its scope of activities too. This is why we are looking for a highly motivated intern eager to support our small secretariat on varied areas. We offer a dynamic working environment at the heart of European affairs and will give you valuable insight into the electricity and energy sector in Brussels. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our work on the EU Green Deal and its objectives, with a particular focus on securing the necessary workforce and skills to implement the energy transition. This position is versatile, giving you the opportunity to widen your scope of skills.

Main tasks

  1. Communication
  2. Support communications activities: media monitoring, drafting, proofreading, editing of external communications output (press releases, newsletter articles, etc.), administrating EuropeOn’s social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn), getting in touch with journalists
  3. Website maintenance: Producing and publishing content, proofreading and editing material, checking content for accuracy
  4. Contribute to and support the execution of our political communication campaigns
  5. Attend events (e.g. at the European Parliament) to report on policy developments relevant to EuropeOn

  • Support the organisation of events, particularly of our Annual General Meeting and Conference (Brussels, November 2023)
  • Support the preparation and organisation of (Working Group) meetings
  • Support the preparation of our 70-year-anniversary celebrations in 2024
  • Members’ support
  • Set up a workstream with our members’ communication officers to better share information
  • Reach-out to members on the EU-funded projects we are taking part in
  • Support administrative tasks

Profile

  • You are either a young graduate or about to graduate in a relevant degree
  • Excellent command of English: strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with social media and appropriate messaging across different platform
  • Experience with events planning
  • IT skills, first-hand experience with website content management and audio-visual storytelling (creating images/infographics/video) are desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills, inter-personal skills, flexibility, responsibility
  • High attention to detail

What we offer

  • A 6-months’ ‘Convention d’Immersion Professionelle’, or Internship contract.  Possibility to renew for an additional 6 months.
  • A standard monthly reimbursement for expenses of €1.100,
  • Reimbursement for public transportation,
  • Lunch vouchers of 8€ per day worked (with a participation of €1.09/voucher),
  • Work environment: you will be working in a dynamic small-scale association, hosted in the comfortable premises of a dynamic large-scale association at the heart of the European district; we also encourage and value working from home and autonomy; you will be interacting with 14+ nationalities; you will have a direct glimpse at EU policymaking

Side note 1: Conditional on approval of the internship by Brussels Formation (EuropeOn will manage the request)

Side note 2: For students, a signed Convention de Stage (a tripartite agreement signed by EuropeOn, the intern and his/her university or college) is foreseen
