EuropeOn has gathered representatives of the electrical contracting sector since 1954, and this year will be no exception. Following our Annual General Meeting, EuropeOn’s Conference will take place in the Autumn, on November 18, as per previous years. As the sanitary crisis is preventing us from meeting in person, we will, for the first time in our long history, hold our event in digital format.
While we are saddened to miss out on an opportunity to meet face to face, the digital format will offer more flexibility to organise a conference that can be as relevant for our EU audience as for our sectoral audience.
A case in point, our first session will focus on skills in the electrical contracting sector, and more specifically in the context of renovations. With the Commission expected to put forward its so-called flagship initiative, the Renovation Wave, in October, this will be the perfect opportunity to explore the contribution electrical contractors will bring to green renovations and retrofitting, and how the EU can support skills in this area.
Then, we’ll move to the transport and mobility agenda, which is poised to boost electro-mobility in the short to medium future. This time, we come ahead of the main releases of the moment, namely the Strategy for Smart and Sustainable Mobility and the revision of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive, to offer insights from the ground, literally since electrical contractors are responsible for earthing pins found in (or beneath) charge points, on the most consumer-centric pathway to zero-emission mobility.
A full agenda and speaker list will be made available in the coming weeks.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our first virtual event in our 66 years of existence, that will be free and publicly accessible. Stay tuned for more!
