Last month, EuropeOn participated in the kick-off of RESkill4NetZero, a new EU-funded project under the Erasmus+ programme for training and education. This four-year initiative, which began in December 2024, brings together more than 20 stakeholders, including training and education providers, industry associations, and workforce solutions companies, to address the growing skills gap in the renewable energy sector.
RESkill4NetZero, under the coordination of EIT InnoEnergy, aims to identify key job profiles and skills needed in the renewable energy industry, develop a skills strategy, and create targeted training programmes to equip workers with the necessary competencies. A particular focus will be placed on high-demand technical and engineering roles, ensuring they encompass essential green, digital, and safety-related skills that are widely relevant across the sector.
EuropeOn will play an active role in several work packages, particularly in providing skills intelligence, contributing to the renewables skills strategy, and working in the dissemination and communication efforts to maximize the project’s impact. RESkill4NetZero will contribute to supporting the transition to a net-zero economy by ensuring the workforce is well-equipped for the evolving demands of the renewable energy sector.
Continuing our focus on skills
The aim of this project is aligned with the work that EuropeOn has been developing on skills during the last years.
