From 16th to 18th of October, 2024, EuropeOn’s members and Secretariat travelled to Berlin for a very engaging General Assembly organised by our German member ZVEH. Our members had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss internal topics in the association and attend several conferences on digitalization of the electrical sector and the current and future market trends. In addition, we also elected EuropeOn’s new president and two new Board members.
Talking about the impact of digitalisation in the electrical contracting sector
On Thursday 17th of October, our colleagues from ZVEH organized a conference with several insightful session that included the participation of external speakers. Different experts in the field showcased pioneering projects and trends that stand to change our understanding of the energy sector thanks to digitalisation and energy management.
The session started with a discussion on the current trends and latest digital advancements related to the electrical sector. It also covered topics such as energy management, the stabilisation of the grid and the use of AI in electrical installations. After a fascinating live demonstration on the use of Virtual Reality glasses, our members reflected on the use of other digital tools for businesses and discussed how the future of the sector may look like.
EuropeOn has a new President!
One of the key moments of our General Assembly was our Annual General Meeting, on Friday 18th of October. This was the occasion to elect Kimmo Hallamaa as the new EuropeOn’s President, and Emma Elheim Karlsson as Vice-President. Martin Böhm was elected Management Committee Member, and Olivier Toggenburger and Niels Eldrup Meidahl joined the Board as newly elected members. After three fantastic years leading EuropeOn, our now former President, Martin Bailey, will stay in the Board for a new term.
A huge thank you to Martin Bailey for his work and dedication during his Presidency, and congratulations to Kimmo Hallama, Emma Elheim Karlsson, and the rest of our new EuropeOn Board!
What is a General Assembly without a cultural program?
After two days of discussions and meetings, our members enjoyed a cultural program organized by ZVEH colleagues, which included a guided tour of Berlin and the opportunity to climb the impressive Alexander tower.
Now that our General Assembly is over, we thank all our members for bringing such energy and insight to the event. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon during the celebration of our 70th anniversary the 20th of November in Brussels!
